Happy Camping!

Update:

We recently upgraded to a diesel pusher! Amazing where this lifestyle can take you!

We now drive a 41 foot Class A Diesel Pusher Motor Home, still the 2 slides, 3 A/C’s, 2 dogs, and 2 or 3 kids and we still try to be pretty particular with our rv park choices.

Most of our trips are weekend adventures.

When we purchased our RV, it always seemed that the reviews for areas close to us were inconsistent and scattered all over the internet.  After spending hours researching RV parks and trying to find places to stay, we decided to start recording our travels and offering our experiences to fellow RVers.

Our Requirements:

1. 50 Amp Power – In order to run both A/C’s, the refrigerator, TV’s, appliances, etc., we need 50 Amp Power. We do have a generator to supplement power, but many parks have a quiet time at night.

2. Reasonably Level Sites – We do have jacks and blocks, but still need a site to start out fairly level to be able to properly operate our slides.

3. Pet Friendly – We travel with our dogs on short trips, so pet friendly is huge. A dog park is a plus also, but not required.

4. Full Hook-Ups – We can work with a dump station, if we are on a longer trip, where we will be moving the coach every couple of days, but for the weekend, we pick parks with full hook-ups for the ease of getting in and out.

5. Clearance for the Park and Site – Trees are a great asset for an RV park, but too many can cause problems. Low hanging branches or untrimmed roadside trees can cause damage while trying to get into a park. Sites with poorly-placed trees can make it difficult to put out the slides and awnings.  You can get a feel for how tree crowded a park is by looking up on Google Maps and using the satellite view.

Note: RV parks will ask the length of your coach and if you have slides, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that your site will be free of interferences. ALWAYS double check clearances before opening your slides or awnings or raising your antennas.

6. Distance:  About 200 miles or less away from our house in Northwest Houston.

Our hope is that through our experiences, we can offer suggestions of places that you can enjoy!

As always, happiness is 50 amp and a level site!
